Dear friends,
As you remember on 26th of June Georgian Scooters National Federation in cooperation with Tbilisi Municipality City Hall organized event at "Dedaena Square". During meeting all potential challenges and opportunities in scooter industry were discussed.

Apart from it, special survey was made between guests to define most relevant and actual legal initiative. The outcome of the survey was the exemption of electric scooters from VAT tax. As a result our federation addressed Revenue Service and the answer was following :

• According to RS statement Georgian customs/tax law indeed has exemption of VAT tax for electric motorcycles and electric mopeds. But unfortunately it does not identify term "Electric Scooter" and therefore VAT has to be paid for it
• Revenue Service is not competent to re-evaluate "Electric Scooters" for considering it as "Electric Transport" which would lead for VAT tax exemption
• Therefore this issue is out of competence of RS

Georgian National Scooters Federation based on this answer will apply to Ministry of Finance of Georgia, later on we will share information on our sources.
